Founder, Alicia Britt Chole, speaks to leaders, professionals, women’s groups, ministers, and college students concerning spiritual formation, truth and deception, disillusionment, unity, mentoring, missional living, and pain.
"Would it be possible to get together for coffee or tea?"
This vulnerable question is one Alicia has been honored and humbled to hear from hundreds of hungry souls through the years.
For a quarter century, Alicia Chole has treasured God’s calling on her life of intentionally investing in leader’s spiritual growth. She has ached for each request for time, mentoring, and spiritual direction that she’s had to decline.
Now, through the formation of Lii, Alicia has the joy of crafting intensives devoted to mentoring leaders in the development of spiritual rest and sustainable intimacy with God.
Alicia's Bio
Alicia Britt Chole speaks nationally and internationally to leaders, pastors, professionals, college students, women, and churches. All who have heard her agree: Alicia is an unusually disarming combination of realism and compassion, intellect and vulnerability, humor and art.
Young and old alike describe Alicia’s messages as piercing but welcome surgeries. One pastor captured the impressions of many when he said, “My first thought was, she has such a gentle spirit. My second thought was, I think she just removed my appendix!”
Golden-year believers comment: “I’ve been in church for decades and am somewhat of a retreat junkie. But I’ve never heard truth presented in this way.”
Twenty-somethings say, “I love her! Alicia shares powerful, transformational stuff. It’s like a visit to a spiritual naturopath. Her words cut through a lot of religious junk, in a creative, humble, authoritative way and connect the soul to the Father.”
Alicia has been mentoring the next generation for over twenty years. After hearing her speak, an acquisitions VP at a division of Thomas Nelson asked her to write the first of what would become two devotionals: Pure Joy and Sitting in God’s Sunshine. In 2006 she released her first “heart” book with Integrity Publishers: Anonymous: Jesus’ hidden years and yours which has received breathtaking reviews from ministry leaders around the world.
Alicia’s articles and writings have appeared in Spirit-led Woman, Enrichment Journal, Chicken Soup for the Soul, Jennifer Rothschild’s Self Talk, Soul Talk, and a variety of devotional books. She has been a featured expert blogger on Conversant Life and a voice on Wired Parish and she has been interviewed by dozens of radio stations including KTIS, Premiere Drive UK, The Bob Duktko Show, Thor Tolo, Georgean Rice, Mark Daniels, Moody with Prime Time Chicago, Moody Radio South, Ron Meyers, Jennifer Keitt, and Brian Mason. TV appearances include The Harvest Show and At Home Live.
Alicia lives with her husband of 21 years and their three amazing children, four somewhat less than amazing dogs, four truly strange cats, nine unusually social chickens, and one confused rabbit off of a dirt road in the country in a home devoted to writing and reflection.
With over twenty years experience in mentoring women, Alicia’s most treasured ministry context is one-on-one. Together, you will listen for God’s whispers as God’s Spirit refreshes the weary spaces in your soul.
"Whether Alicia is the keynote speaker at the podium or simply my friend sipping tea at her kitchen table, she is the same person. She lives the principles she teaches. Her emotional honesty and laughter are contagious. Yet, her greatest gift to me during our time together was what she calls “the present of presence.” Who she is was life changing for me. Alicia allows Jesus to continually mold her into a beautiful soul, and as He does he molds the souls around her as well." – Ruthie (Spain)
"My one-on-one mentoring times with Alicia have been truly transformational. At times when I have needed perspective, she has invested in me a profound biblical understanding of the purposes of God in my life and His love for me. Alicia's gentle way of navigating our discussions has enabled my heart to receive correction and respond more deeply to the heart of God." – Christie (Missouri)
"The first thing I noticed when I began spending time with Alicia was the -pause- she brings to my life. Busyness seems to be left outside the coffeehouse or meeting room, and as we talk I always find clarity. There is a gentle wisdom that does not direct or give advice, but something deeper-- helps me hear the Spirit as He is guiding me. For me, the best word to describe time with Alicia: Rich." – Alia (Missouri)
"God uses my times with Alicia to stoke the hunger in me for him and his truth. Alicia's love for and dependence on God's Word was transferred to me through her encouraging words, her prayers and her admonishments. Most importantly, the majority of Alicia's mentoring occurred at a crucial stage in my spiritual development. I know that was by the design of God. I am grateful for his sovereign guidance and care for me demonstrated in the faithful woman he allowed to walk with me - as an example for me." – Loretta (Israel)
“Alicia invested her life in me. I would not be where I am today without that investment. Two things I carry with me and affect my ministry today are 1) the continual challenge to deepen my relationship with Jesus, to never be satisfied to stay in one place and 2) to always find people to invest in and to mentor.” – Jennifer (Jordan)
“Mentorship is the way of the cross. It is the process of pouring out oneself of the love and betterment of another. Mentorship is believing in the next generation more than you believe in yourself. It is about acceptance and gentle correction. This is a hard balance to maintain, but Alicia does it beautifully. My friendship with her has made me strive for perfection in ways that are truly important to the Father.” – Leah (Texas)
“By meeting with Alicia, I feel I have been able to look at myself and my relationships more honestly. This has been a tremendous help to my ministry as I’m able to look at people and difficult relational situations more honestly than emotionally. There’s a lot to say for the ‘life-on-life’ experience with someone older and wiser and more mature in the faith …. It’s priceless!” – Kristina (Missouri)
“I’ve seen Alicia’s influence on me filter down to the ladies I’ve mentored in the last few years, even through she hasn’t really spent time with them. By watching her example, I am learning to ask questions more than give answers, and to give truth when necessary and grace always …. It is amazing to see how many generations of young ladies will be touched and impacted because Alicia chose to spend time with me.” – Leila (Colorado)
“My relationship with Alicia has been empowering. She was a voice of challenge and encouragement. Today it shows me that there is immeasurable promise in the young people I disciple. Alicia was a gift from God in the moment when it mattered most. I am forever grateful!” – Sarah (Virginia)
